The short answer: A half syringe ($360) gives subtle definition and suits most first-timers. A full syringe ($550) gives a fuller result. Expect swelling for a day or two, a settled result at two weeks, and results that last roughly 6–18 months (lips tend to use filler up faster than other areas). Hyaluronic-acid filler is reversible if you ever need it dissolved ($200).
Your lips, your goal and your starting shape decide this, not a menu. As a rule, we start conservatively: you can always add at a later visit, but you can't always take away.

They are different treatments. Lip filler is hyaluronic acid placed in the lip to add volume and shape. A lip flip is a small dose of neuromodulator that relaxes the muscle along the upper lip, so it rolls slightly outward and shows a little more. It adds no volume, suits people who want a touch of definition or a softer "gummy" smile, and is a lighter first step if you aren't ready for filler.
Traditional lip filler often builds volume forward, so the lip projects outward. The Russian lip technique works differently: small amounts of filler are placed in a vertical pattern to lift the lip upward, emphasising height and a defined, heart-shaped look with a flatter side profile.
It isn't right for every lip. Whether it suits you depends on your natural shape and proportions, and some lips need structure before height. Aly Chornaby, RN, one of our two cosmetic injectors, is known for this technique, and she'll tell you honestly at your consultation whether it's the right approach for you.
To lower the chance of bruising, avoid alcohol, fish oil, ibuprofen, vitamin E and blood thinners for 48 hours beforehand. Lip filler isn't suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, are allergic to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, or have an active cold sore in the area. Tell us about any severe bee-sting allergy: hyaluronidase, the enzyme used to dissolve filler, can cross-react.
