What it treats.

Peels address:

– Pigmentation + melasma (sun spots, post-acne marks, uneven tone)
– Texture + fine lines (accelerates cell turnover, smooths surface)
– Mild acne scarring (works well in combination with microneedling)
– Dullness (reveals the fresher, brighter skin beneath)
– Congestion + oiliness (salicylic acid peels are excellent for acne-prone skin)

§ 02 · How it works

How it works.

A chemical peel applies a controlled concentration of acid, such as an AHA or BHA, to exfoliate skin at a chosen depth. Light peels affect only the top epidermal layers; medium peels reach papillary dermis and trigger more collagen renewal. We choose depth and acid type based on your skin and goals. We do not use TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels.

Your skin peels visibly for 2–5 days after a medium depth, less for light peels. Under the flaking, fresh skin emerges, smoother, more uniform, brighter. It's the most classic way to reset skin that feels stuck.

What it won't do

Peels don't tighten laxity or treat deep wrinkles. For deeper texture or scarring, we combine with microneedling or Morpheus8. For vascular pigmentation (redness, veins), Lumecca IPL is faster.

Good fit

This is likely for you if…

You have pigmentation, melasma, sun damage, or post-acne marks
Your skin feels dull, rough, or congested
You want a reset before an event (book 2–3 weeks before)
You're Fitzpatrick I–IV and have no recent sun exposure
You can avoid sun exposure and retinoids for 2 weeks post-peel

Not a fit

This is not for you if…

You're pregnant or breastfeeding (certain acids)
You're on isotretinoin (Accutane) or have been in the last 6 months
You have active cold sores, open lesions, or active eczema in the area
You've waxed, tanned, or had laser in the last 2 weeks
You're Fitzpatrick V–VI with a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, we'd start very light and cautious

Day ofThe appointment

Cleanse, prep, acid application (5–15 min depending on depth), neutralize if needed, soothing mask, SPF 50. Stinging is brief. You leave looking slightly pink.

Days 2–5Peeling

Medium peels begin visible flaking on day 2–3, peak by day 4. Do not pick, let skin shed naturally. Gentle cleanser, rich moisturizer, strict SPF 50. No hot water, no exfoliants, no retinol.

iii.

Day 7–10Full reveal

Peeling complete, fresh skin visible. Pigmentation begins fading over 2–4 weeks. Results compound with a course, full effect usually at 8–12 weeks across multiple peels.

3–4 sessions 3–4 weeks apart for pigment or texture work. Maintenance quarterly.

Consultations are $40 + HST virtually or $50 + HST in person, applied to your treatment if you proceed. We'll quote a plan for your specific goals before any treatment begins.

Light peels barely flake. Medium peels peel visibly for 2–5 days, think tight, flaky skin especially around the mouth and nose. Most clients schedule around a weekend.

No. The Skin Renewal Treatment is a chemical peel, but we do not use TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels. The acid and strength are chosen for your skin type and goals at your consultation.

Depends on your skin type, concern, and timeline. We consult first and often start with a lighter peel to see how your skin responds, then build.

Yes if you're disciplined about SPF 50 and sun avoidance for 2 weeks after. Lighter peels are summer-friendly; medium peels we often schedule in fall/winter when sun exposure is naturally lower.

Yes, but we're extra careful with Fitzpatrick IV–VI because of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk. We start conservative with lactic or mandelic acid.

Glycolic and lactic (light) peels are generally considered safe during pregnancy. We avoid salicylic acid and Jessner's. Tell us at booking.

Not on the same day. We typically alternate, peel one month, microneedling the next. Both drive cell turnover, and stacking them can irritate the barrier.
